EMPLOYER
The skills shortage in Australia together with the effects of globalization have led to many Australian business recruiting employees globally. There are temporary and permanent visa options for overseas staff.
Our team can assist with all aspects of this process including assistance with:
- Business Sponsorship and
- Business Nominations
- Visa application.
- Liaising with DAIC
- Assistance with future monitoring and notification obligations
Substantial discounts are provided for businesses sponsoring multiple employees or for temporary visa applicants changing to permanent visa applications if our services are used for both applications.
SPONSORSHIP
Sponsors have the ability to sponsor overseas employees under the temporary 457 visa program or under the ENS or RSMS program. The RSMS is an excellent option for business located in regional areas of Australia. South Australia and Tasmania have the added advantage in that the whole state is designated as a regional area (including the capital city)
Basic criteria for sponsorship:
- Be a lawfully operating business in Australia
- Be committed to training and employing Australian permanent residents
- Be financially sound
- Have a genuine vacancy that cannot be filled by Australian labour market
- Pay the employee a base salary as gazetted by DIAC
Temporary sponsorship requires the sponsor to enter into binding undertakings with the Australian Government. Compliance with these undertakings is monitored on a regular basis by DIAC staff and any breaches can result in serious consequences both for the sponsor and visa applicant. Undertakings impose financial and other obligations on the business.
The ENS and RSMS visa categories do not require these sponsor undertakings.
